Mike CAMC Infomediaries Newsletter, New Year 2007

January 1, 2007

2006 has been quite a year for AMC. We extended the reach of our PeopleSoft practice to include Oracle applications. We also developed and successfully implemented a brand new customer engagement and project management methodology, based on the principle of customer empathy. We first had a sense that taking the customer empathy approach would be the right one for AMC when working with Omaha Public Power District (OPPD). This engagement demonstrated in practice the benefits it could bring, for both the customer and for AMC.

Then in mid 2006, Mike Castronovo, our President was selected to join the new Oracle-PeopleSoft Customer Advisory Board for the PeopleSoft ESA product line. This body includes PeopleSoft customers, consulting firms, and the Oracle-PeopleSoft product strategy group.  Mike Castronovo commented: “I like to think it is AMC’s customer empathy approach that was one of the factors in Oracle’s decision to ask us to join the Customer Advisory Board”.

In October, with Genea Davis of OPPD, Mike had the further honor and pleasure of co-presenting the results and lessons learned from our OPPD experience, at Open World 2006, in San Francisco. At Open World it was clear that the big players in the IT market are continuing to acquire smaller companies to complete their portfolio of offerings, but increasingly depend on companies such as AMC to stimulate innovation.

Open World also marked the beginning of a new phase in the On Demand market, which is really starting to take off. It seemed an appropriate moment therefore, for AMC to launch its own version of Expertise on Demand.  This approach is one pioneered by the Aleff Group, to which AMC belongs. In the Aleff Group as a whole we believe that attention will increasingly focus on domain knowledge and expertise, as critical dependencies for successful installations or upgrades of enterprise systems, such as project portfolio management. AMC is particularly well-positioned within the group to lead the On Demand approach.

With that new strategy of Expertise on Demand, AMC also wanted to offer its customers a more complete service. So we entered into a partnership with Phaze, Inc. (Atlanta) to provide a more comprehensive offering to our customers. This now means we can offer:

  • recruitment and staffing, both short-term and permanent, for systems implementations
  • implementations, upgrades, enhancements, training and support for enterprise systems
  • strategic planning and change management
  • on demand domain expertise and knowledge management

As we look forward to 2007, we are planning to release an early version of our new AMC Resource Center, which will target businesses wanting to benefit from the kind of expertise we have gathered working for large organisations, but at a price and in a manner suited to mid-size companies.

In 2007, we also expect further refinements to our implementation and improvement methodology, tailoring it to the mid-size client. This continued investment in refining our methods is one way we can make good on our continued commitment to passing on the benefits of what we learn as a company to our growing range of customers.

As we look forward to another year of growth and creativity in the service of our customers, we wish you and our partners worldwide a very successful 2007.
